She was born in Nigeria on the 11th September, 1977.

Chimamanda is a new generation of Nigerian writer whose work transcends novels, short stories to non fiction.

Adichie is an acclaimed feminist who published works include amongst others , Purple Hibiscus (2003), Half of a yellow sun( 2006) Americanah (2013) and so on.

In the year 2008 , she recieved the prestigious prize , MacArthur Genius Grant
